Independent Poland – your home!

The Foundation for Somalia invites you to join intercultural event celebrating 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence.

Wednesday, November 7, at 17.30, Foundation for Somalia (Bracka Street 18/63, Warsaw)

Are you a foreigner working or studying in Poland? Would you like to know something about history and culture, the country in which you are staying but do not know anyone who could tell you about it? You know the most important dates of state holidays, but you do not know exactly what they mean? You know that Independence Day is approaching, but you do not know what it is about, and Poland does not associate you with the country of enslavement? You have doubts if you can be part of its celebration? Would you like to integrate more with the Poles through participation in the Independence Day?

Are you a Pole who treats Independence Day as an invitation to people of different cultures to celebrate together freedom and liberty in our country that enable people to undertake work and education? Are you wondering if polish history of losing independence happened or is happening somewhere in world right now? What exactly do you know about the circumstances of the loss and regaining of independence in Poland? Can this story be a pretext for greater integration with foreigners and joyful celebration?

During the event we will see a short film about the history of Poland, and we will listen to the speech of an expert on the history of regaining independence. We will invite you to take part in a special integrating quiz on knowledge about Poland, where you will exchange knowledge and experiences in multicultural groups.

At the end, we will traditionally invite everyone to a shared table.
