I came to Poland from Ukraine after the war broke out and for a very long time I felt absolutely lonely and lost: I didn’t go out anywhere, I just sat at home, read the news and cried. I found out from social media that many services, including psychological support, are available free of charge at the Good Start Migrant Foundation. It was only when I started visiting a psychologist, group integration classes, communicating with other migrants that I felt that I was not alone, that I had support here and finally started smiling.

The whole family goes to the Foundation for Migrants Good Start – me, my daughter and my little granddaughter. Each of us has her own problems and needs. For example, I had many difficulties with work, with documents, with adaptation. I can’t imagine how I would have managed without the help of the girls from the Foundation! For us, migrants, it’s simply a blessing that there are such centers where you can come as if to a family home, where you will be surrounded by care and support in a difficult situation.
